Plan your night

  • 5:54 PM Sunset on Oct 31
  • Forecast Appears here about a week before Halloween

A walking loop to start with

  1. Albemarle Road Prospect Park South / Ditmas Park
  2. Cortelyou Road shops Ditmas Park
  3. East 3rd Street Windsor Terrace

About 1.0 mi of walking in total, always to the nearest next street. Start around sunset and stay on sidewalks.

Getting there

  • Take the subway or walk. Blocks near the parades close to cars, so parking is scarce.
  • Sidewalks get crowded on Halloween. With a toddler, plan a short loop you can walk or carry.
  • NYC DOT publishes its car-free β€œTrick or Streets” list in advance: the 2026 list went up on Sept 30. Closures change block, hours and even date every year.
