- The Jackson Heights children’s Halloween parade gathers on 89th Street (35th to 37th Avenue), which the city closes 12–2 p.m. on Oct 31.
- On Steinway Street, the shops can run out of candy after about 5:30 p.m., so go early (4–5:30 p.m.).
- When it's rainy or cold, the Kew Gardens apartment buildings on Austin Street toward Hillside Avenue open their doors to trick-or-treaters.
