Getting there

  • Capitol Hill trick-or-treating runs 5–9pm; toddlers start around 5, and side streets see far fewer kids than East Capitol.
  • Georgetown's M Street gets very crowded on Halloween; trick-or-treat on the side streets to the north instead.
  • Parking in Glover Park is tricky, so arrive early.
